The lens doesn&#8217;t just see what is before it. This is especially true for film photography. What a camera does is capture reflected light. Studio lighting allows the photographer to play with reflected light. This small group of 8&#215;10 inch prints shows what can be done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"450\" height=\"564\" src=\"https:\/\/book20.net\/kink\/badrabbit_redux\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/hollywood.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-774\" style=\"width:452px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/book20.net\/kink\/badrabbit_redux\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/hollywood.jpg 450w, https:\/\/book20.net\/kink\/badrabbit_redux\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/hollywood-239x300.jpg 239w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This photo was taken around 1950, maybe a little earlier. The lighting brings out the melody of textures. This looks like a Hollywood promotional photograph but there is nothing on the back of the print to indicate its purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"450\" height=\"527\" src=\"https:\/\/book20.net\/kink\/badrabbit_redux\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/jeanne-carroll-conducting.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/book20.net\/kink\/badrabbit_redux\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/jeanne-carroll-conducting.jpg 450w, https:\/\/book20.net\/kink\/badrabbit_redux\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/jeanne-carroll-conducting-256x300.jpg 256w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This and the next photo are of band leader Jeanne Carroll. The photos were taken in the 1950s and were used to promote the band\/conductor. The photographer&#8217;s name isn&#8217;t clear but appears to be <a href=\"https:\/\/ronseymour.com\/the-maurice-seymour-gallery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maurice Seymour of Chicago<\/a>.
